I have some exciting news: Dokkai is officially live on the App Store! ๐
I'm amrayu, the solo developer behind MochiPixel, and I wanted to personally thank you for signing up to the waitlist. Knowing people were excited about Dokkai kept me going through many late nights of building and debugging. It genuinely means a lot.
Dokkai was born from my own frustration as a Japanese learner. Flipping between apps, losing context, wishing I could just point my phone at a page and understand it. I built the app I wanted to use, and I hope it becomes a trusted companion in your own journey too.

A quick note: Dokkai is currently iOS only. If you're on Android or desktop, I hear you! I'm actively working on a web app so everyone can use it. Stay tuned.
Also worth knowing: Dokkai is still in beta. It works well for novels, books, and general text, but manga support hasn't been fully tested yet and is actively in progress. If you're a manga reader, I'd love your patience and your bug reports. It's coming!
I genuinely wish I could offer Dokkai for free, believe me, I thought about it. But every scan and translation runs through AI APIs that cost real money, and as a solo dev with bills to pay, a subscription is the only way I can keep the lights on and keep improving the app. I've kept the pricing as fair as I can, and there's a 7-day free trial so you can explore everything before committing.
